Today, July 14, 2024, Rwandans living outside the country are participating in the presidential and parliamentary elections. This significant event is taking place at all Rwandan embassies globally.
In Sweden, a large number of Rwandans from different cities gathered at the Rwandan Embassy in Stockholm to vote. Many traveled long distances to reach the site. There are eight voting locations across the Nordic countries.
Ambassador Dr. Diane Gashumba, in an interview with Nordic TV, mentioned, “Today we have received a huge number of Rwandans living in different cities of Sweden, including women, men, and first-time voters. Children who came with their parents were curious about the voting process.” She continued, saying, “Rwandans in Nordic countries such as Finland, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden were excited about voting. Everything is going smoothly with smiles and happiness. We have seen many first-time voters who were very happy to participate.
Compared to previous years, we have received a larger number of voters, which is very encouraging.”
Ambassador Gashumba expressed gratitude to all the volunteers who helped organize the event and to all Rwandans living in the Nordic countries for participating in the elections.
First-time voters shared their feelings and excitement about today’s vote, proud to contribute to their country.
