Kenza Johanna Ameloot, the 2024 Miss Belgium and a model with Rwandan roots, recently visited Rwanda. During her trip, she went to the Kabgayi Referral Eye Care Centre, where she met with patients and saw how the center helps people with vision problems.
Kenza was deeply moved by what she experienced on her first day at the clinic. She described her day as “emotional but very powerful.” One moment that touched her heart was seeing an elderly woman who could not see. The woman had fallen because of her poor vision and was going into surgery to restore her sight. Kenza shared her hopes that the surgery would be successful so the woman could enjoy her life and family again.
Kenza emphasized how important it is to help people in need. She pointed out that while the cost of treatment may not seem like much to many of us, it can make a huge difference for the patients. “For us, it’s not a lot of money, but for them, it’s a big change,” she said.
She is looking forward to the coming days at the clinic, where she will also meet children who are receiving help. Kenza’s visit brings hope to the patients at Kabgayi, and she is excited to see the positive impact her support will make in their lives.
Her kindness and care for others show how small efforts can make a big difference, bringing light into the lives of those in need.
