Poland is a notable destination in Europe for a significant number of young Rwandans. While many come for educational opportunities, others have settled for work, contributing to a vibrant and youthful Rwandan community.
The Rwandan community in Poland engages in a variety of activities, including entertainment, religious gatherings, and events organized by the Rwandan Embassy. Among these, entertainment stands out as particularly popular, largely because the majority of the Rwandan expatriates are young adults between the ages of 18 and 35.
One key player in the entertainment scene is KIFF Entertainment, a group of young Rwandans in Poland. Founded by Ngabo Fiston, also known as DJ LEXX LEXX, this group has been instrumental in organizing concerts and events. DJ LEXX LEXX, a music mixer by profession, leads this initiative with the support of his friends.
KIFF Entertainment has successfully brought several Rwandan artists to perform in Poland, attracting large audiences of both Rwandans and locals. Notable events include a concert by artist Kivumbi King in Warsaw two years ago. Kivumbi King is set to return to Warsaw for another performance on June 28, 2024, at LOFT 44. This event will also feature DJ Lexx Lexx, Selecta Mauriceh from Belgium, and DJ Kstar from Kenya, and is expected to draw a significant crowd from Warsaw and nearby areas.
In addition to Kivumbi King, other Rwandan artists like DAVIS D, DJ PIUS, and Bruce Melodie have also performed in Poland. Unfortunately, Bruce Melodie’s concert, scheduled for June 15, 2024, had to be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances.
Kivumbi King’s concert in Warsaw is part of his European tour promoting his new album “Ganza.” Known for captivating audiences with his music, Kivumbi King has released popular tracks such as “Keza,” “Sabrina” with Mike Kayihura, “Yalampaye” with Kirikou Akili from Burundi, and “Captain” with Apass from Uganda.
Through these concerts and events, the Rwandan community in Poland continues to celebrate their culture and maintain strong connections, creating a vibrant cultural exchange within the heart of Europe.
