The Embassy of Rwanda in Poland attended the 7th Congress of Polish Africanists which took place at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, during the congress the Embassy was given a panel on Rwanda :30 years after Genocide against the Tutsi. The congress was attended by over 100 participants including Rwandans and friends of Rwanda as follow; representatives of Polish Universities and Academia, Government officials, Polish business, other government officials.
It brought together different speakers from the academia, journalists & Rector of Amercican University in Bulgaria as key note Speaker
The congress was attended by over 100 participants, including representatives of Polish Universities & Academia, government officials, friends of Rwanda & Rwandans living in Cracow.
Also during the Congress the short Kwibuka 30 documentary film was projected , explaining the Genocide, its historical context, and tells the story of Rwanda’s progress over the past these decades.
Amb shyaka Anastase spoke as Guest of honour ,whereby he provided insights into Rwanda’s post genocide rebirth ,Governance ,leadership
‘’As a global Community, we must continue to reflect on why stereotypes, ethnicity, xenophobia, and nationalistic prejudices have continued to manifest and lead to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and above all Genocides just like 30 years ago in Rwanda. We must reflect to act so that never again becomes a fact, not just a declaration of good intention.’’
